Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP)
The Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) is a non-profit organization chartered with raising the level of competitiveness, performance, and profitability of Utah's manufacturers.
The objective of the MEP is to make a bottom-line impact on your business. We accomplish this by; identifying the 5-10 most important things your organization should be doing, helping your management team turn this task list into a prioritized Strategic Activity List©, managing your Activity List, and then helping overcome barriers to implementation.
Utah Science Technology and Research initiative (USTAR)
The Utah Science Technology and Research initiative (USTAR) is a long-term, state-funded investment to strengthen Utah's "knowledge economy." This revolutionary initiative invests in world-class innovation teams and research facilities at the University of Utah and Utah State University, to create novel technologies that are subsequently commercialized through new business ventures.
Wayne Brown Institute (WBI)
Formed in 1983, the Wayne Brown Institute (WBI) runs the oldest and most successful non-profit venture accelerator program in the country. Most importantly, WBI's accelerator program helps technical entrepreneurs from every social economic level raise money for their businesses. WBI's network of experienced and knowledgeable mentors has assisted over 580 promising high-tech companies. These alumni companies have raised a combined $1.7 billion in private equity since participating in an Institute accelerator program. Over 30,000 jobs have been created or retained by alumni companies. The Institute annually provides between 1%-2% of all venture quality deal flow in the United States.
World Trade Center
Anchored by a unique combination of tenants and visitors, a World Trade Center is a bustling hub of import and export activity. Each of the nearly 313 World Trade Centers in over 300 cities and approximately 100 countries are backed by the World Trade Center Association, whose founding principles include: encouraging the expansion of world trade, promoting international business relationships and understanding among nations, and fostering increased participation in world trade by industrializing nations.
